The handpan (hang, bells, halo, etc.) is the protagonist of 'Loris Lombardo's handpan concert'. It is an instrument which, despite its being one of the world's most modern music tools, features antique, eastern-like sounds.
Loris is a searcher of sounds, a discoverer of musical timbres and instruments from all over the world; he mixes different styles deriving from different traditions.
All through his concert, Loris takes you on a journey into sound by playing both the hang and other instruments from far-away traditions such as tabla, darbika, cajon, drums, vibes, glockenspiel, udu, but also from the natural world: nuts, sea-shells, bones among others.
Loris's handpan project was the inspiration for 'TIMBRICA', the sound experiment Loris achieved in 2012 with 'sound artisan' DANILO RAIMONDO', which was awarded First Prize at PERCFEST, the Percussions European Contest, in 2012.
'TIMBRICA' CD was released in May 2013 and can be purchased by sending an e-mail to lorislombardo@lorislombardo.it .
In May 2013, Loris was a performer and teacher at the International Hang, Handpan and Percussions Festival held in Prato, at Hardcase Technologies'. Alongside Loris, the event featured some of the greatest handpan musicians in the world: David Kuchermann, Nadishana, Daniel Waples, Liron Man, Davide Swarup.

L'handpan concert di Loris Lombardo vede come protagonista l'handpan (hang, bells, halo, etc.), strumento dalle sonorità antiche ed orientali pur essendo uno degli strumenti più recenti del mondo e di derivazione Svizzera.
Loris è un ricercatore di suoni, di timbri musicali e di strumenti provenienti da ogni parte della terra, mescola vari stili che derivano da tradizioni diverse, propone un vero e proprio viaggio sonoro che vede questo strumento protagonista dello spettacolo ma usandone anche altri come: tabla, darbuka, cajon, batteria, vibrafono, glockenspiel, udu, noci, conchiglie, ossa, ecc...
Questo progetto unito al contributo di Danilo Raimondo ha dato vita a "TIMBRICA", progetto che si è aggiudicato il primo premio al PERCFEST, il Festival europeo delle percussioni. Nel maggio 2013 è uscito il loro cd acquistabile inviando una e-mail a lorislombardo@lorislombardo.it .
Il 5 maggio 2013 Loris suona ed insegna al Festival internazionale di Hang, Handpan e percussioni organizzato dalla Hardcase Technologies al fianco dei più grandi artisti del mondo. Nella serata hanno suonato: David Kuchermann, Nadishana, Daniel Waples, Liron Man, Davide Swarup e Loris Lombardo.
